As a Lead Software Engineer at Abacus AI, I lead the development of AI-powered desktop and productivity tools used by users worldwide, including the Office Abacus AI agent for Microsoft 365.

Here are some of my roles and responsibilities:

  • Led the end-to-end development of Office Abacus AI, an AI agent for Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook that brings contextual assistance directly into Microsoft 365 workflows
  • Developed Office workflows for contextual chat, document and spreadsheet analysis, report and chart generation, image analysis and generation, formatting, and Microsoft Teams collaboration
  • Led the development of Abacus AI Desktop (DeepAgent/CodeLLM), a powerful desktop AI assistant combining an agentic coding editor and CLI with chat and browsing capabilities
  • Ranked top 3 on Terminal Bench — surpassing OpenAI Codex CLI (GPT-5) and Anthropic Claude Code

Office Abacus AI for Microsoft 365

Office Abacus AI is an AI assistant embedded in Microsoft 365. I led the whole project across Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, developing workflows that let users chat with their current file, summarize and analyze documents, generate reports and charts, create and edit visual assets, and automate repetitive formatting and spreadsheet work without leaving the Office application.

Key capabilities include:

  • Contextual AI chat grounded in the active document, workbook, presentation, or email
  • Excel table analysis, formula assistance, cleanup, report generation, and chart creation
  • Document analysis, spreadsheet generation, image analysis, and image generation
  • Formatting assistance for polished tables and documents
